A key area to wellbeing for managing your workload is creating an effective worklife balance.
We use a Trust ‘Partnership Model’ for all teaching and non-teaching departments providing a network of support and collaboration.
Our teaching allocation is under national recommendation (the recommended 10% is 2.5 hours and we allocate 4 hours a week). We use Cover Supervisors to reduce cover in all schools with teachers covering a maximum of six hours per academic year. We commit to keeping directed time to under the 1,265 hour expectations per academic year.
We publish an annual calendar to manage and balance workload. Meetings and evening events are kept to a minimum. Parents Evenings are online and can be conducted from home.
In the classroom, our lesson observations focus on quality not quantity and class sizes kept as small as possible. We adopt a Marking and Assessment Strategy to reduce workload and introduced forensic marking. There are also minimal student data captures (three times a year).
