(term time plus 1 week)
Salary range £18,012 – £22,627 (actual per annum)

We have a vacancy for a Student Referral Unit (SRU) Manager to join the Pastoral & Behaviour Team working closely with the Assistant Headteacher. The SRU supports students who are referred following behavioural incidents in school (and sometimes out of school).
The SRU Manager will be responsible for supervising and supporting students in completing work set by subject teachers, discuss with students the reasons why they are in SRU and look to support them in developing strategies to be reintegrated back in to the classroom and to avoid repeat time in SRU.

Working as an integral part of the Pastoral & Behaviour Team, the successful candidate will be someone who:

  • Is a team player;
  • Is assertive;
  • Is pro-active;
  • Shows initiative;
  • Adopts a consistent approach to all students;
  • Is flexible in their approach to their working hours and has a sense of humour.

Essential for the post is the ability to establish a mutually respectful and supportive relationship with our students. The work will be challenging but rewarding and experience of working with secondary school age students would be an  advantage but not essential.
